I recently went to Nashville for the first time!!! It was a blast and I can’t wait to go back! I went to a place called The Listening Room. There was a private open mic show for members of Songtown USA. I got to sing that night and met Marty Dodson & Clay Mills. They run Songtown USA. You can find it on Facebook. Ok, now for the best part, they invited me to sit with them to do a co-write!!! Marty has written a #1 song for Kenny Chesney and two #1 songs for Billy Currington. He’s also written for Carrie Underwood and the Plain White T’s and more. Clay Mills has had #1 hits for Darius Rucker and has written for Lady Antebellum, Trisha Yearwood, Clay Walker, Reba, Easton Corbin and many others. We sat down together while I was there and left with a song – Pandora’s Box !!
Once I got back home we went to Guilty Dog Studios to get it recorded. I asked Mark Darling to join me on the recording. He sang background, played 2nd guitar, and cajon. Thank you Mark (: Also special thanks to Joe Merrick of Guilty Dog Studios for his tireless work mixing, refining and even playing on the track. You can find it on Itunes and I promise you won’t be disappointed !!
I did It!! My 1st original song "Change" is out!! This song was recorded at Guilty Dog Studios by Joe Merrick. You can download it on ITunes. So be sure to add it to your playlist!
You can view a video for "Change" on my YouTube page. The video was produced my Michael Carroll at Summer Sky Digital Media. Take a look and let me know what you think in the comments!
The Open Mic Scene
I've been playing at local open mic nights. I've met so many great people and fellow musicians. You can usually see me on Monday nights at Luciosos in Plymouth. The Open Mic there starts at 8:30pm and is run by Boston Catalano and Mike V. The Wildflower Cafe & Tavern in Duxbury also has an open mic. This one is run by Mark Darling on Thursday nights starting at 7:00pm. I try to make it to this one as much as I can but sometimes my homework gets in the way (:
